which is better in YOUR oppinion? Dervish or paragon
I know, I know. So you haven't tried using them yet. But come on. There's loads of info out there about them. For instance Paragon use spears, and look sorta roman/greek to me. Dervish carry scyths, and were cloaks with hoods. The setting/place is centered around africa, and the desert. Obviously, they're equal, but who is better to you? What do you think it will be like to play one? How excited are you about nightfall? Etc.
I'm hoping for a rhino, tiger, or a crocidile pet accompanying the dervish I'm gonna make personally. My name is going to mean Desert Flower. I'm soooooooo excited I'm dying. I think that what they say...they're going to make assasin's useful in nightfall is just rubbish. i had a hard time with my sin. Your turn
(make sure you download the dances from the site, they tell you about the character a little more. They're crazy fast dancers them dervish woman...)

Could you be a bit more specific? Dervish would be better if I just wanted somthing dead but Paragon would be better if I didn't want somthing to die.
Personally I like the Dervish more just because its the style of gameplay I've been waiting for but in terms of which one is more.. "powerful" I would say the Paragon just because they can survive so well and do a fair ammount of damage from far away.
So personally Dervish for style but Paragon for power. I also think the Paragons dodged the nerf bullet during the PvP weekend because people chose to focus on Dervish more even though the Paragon had a higher opportunity for "exploit".

hows this?
Dervish: dervish carry sharp scyths in which they swing at there enemies in many ways. They almost practically 'become' the gods (as rumor so far says), unlike the monk who prays to the gods for help. Dervish like in desert/african regions. The contonent in which they come from is called Elona. Some dervish travel to Cantha, or even to tyria to visit the other parts of the world. They wear heavy cloaks seen in a navy kind of blue. They sheild their eyes partly, sort of like the ritualist.
Paragon: Paragon carry pointy spears that are very neat. Paragon are people that have mostly had something bad happen in there life, and have been deserted. They also come from Elona just like the Dervish. they wear white/gold armors. They almost look as if they are greek/roman. They are very interesting people, but do not like to speak. Paragon gather together after being abandoned.
This good? This specific? Or do you mean something else? I like typing.

Thats not what I meant. I know what the Paragon and Dervish are we have already played them during the PvP weekend event I wanted to know what you meant by "better" since the Paragon and Dervish are built to do two very different jobs.

It's all a matter of preference, really.
I didn't get to play the Dervish or Paragon during the PvP event, was out of town for my Bday the whole weekend.
Taking a look at the two though, I definately prefer the Paragon over the Dervish at the moment.

I usually play warrior, so I felt the Dervish was a better class. The Dervish is a more complex class to play as it requires alot more enchants than warriors and only has 70al. But its ability to self heal, and deal incredible damage is great. Paragon is a very good support class that guildwars needs, but I never got the hang of it or enjoyed using a paragon. So, Dervish ftw. Besides, the cloaks and the the scythes look awesome hehe.

paragon going change the game pretty intensely, while dervish wont nearly have as much impact on... but perhaps more fun to play with.

Dervish change more than you think. You only need take eg Dervish secondary class (W/D) and now you have Multi attack with eg Warrior's defensive skills. Then just equip Scyth of course.

I reckon Dervish is going to rock IF the skills are same as they were in preview pvp event. Id rather spin around than dance like para do too

I play support classes much better than I do with melee or rangers, so I'd go with paragon (and not use their spear for the main purpose)

Its not about which is better, its about how you use it... I just happen to use dervish better.. shall be D/E or D/Me for the event..

Right now I'm favoring the paragon class. Dervishes are just like wamos because they use scythes, which is melee? And paragon uses a spear I mean that’s pretty cool but i think ultimately the dervish class will fail just like the assassin's in factions.

Meh, they are both quite different and I have a hungering to try them both
Honestly though, I think I'll enjoy paragon more, I'm just not a melee character...

Let's see...
Paragon 80 armor, ranged attack, really nice shouts, chants and Echoes. Oh, and a energy rebuilding primary. I'm not going to say that Paragon is going to replace Warrior, because it's not, but it is going to change the game.
Dervish area attacks, god avatars, energy and health regen through Primary... hopefully, won't be nerfed too much!
Honestly, I can't say which will be "better". The cool thing is both these professions have energy rebuilding Primaries, which makes them both very useful. Tack on the 80 armor, and I guess I'd have to say Paragon looks like a "better" Primary Profession than Dervish, but I'll hold final judgement until we see the final skills.
